Happy holidays, dear calendar fans! Before we dig into today’s boxes, let’s start with a little LEGO advent history. The first LEGO advent calendar was released in 1998 featuring basic bricks and one Santa minifigure. It wasn’t until 2004 that LEGO released two choices in one year. That second calendar option? Clikits! How far we’ve come. This year we have Friends, Disney, City, Harry Potter, Star Wars, and Spider-Man!
As ever, our intrepid TBB team is on hand with witty comments, insightful observations, and bad jokes for each day’s builds. And of course, you can add your own thoughts in the comments section each day! So without further ado, let’s crack open the build for day 19…
Friends has given us a few tables and stools, but today we get a lovely pair of plush chairs. Disney offers up a second Encanto build: the Madrigal’s miracle candle! But still no sign of Mirabelle…
City wants to build a snowman. And Hogwarts gets its first faculty member in the form of charms professor Flitwick, featuring a torso with metalic printing and accompanied by a collectible tile. (I don’t know who this character is, but I love the runes! Feel free to educate us in the comments)
Star Wars provides a vehicle for a wrinkly green man with pointy ears. Spider-Man’s gift is a wrinkly green man with pointy ears. Coincidence…? This Green Goblin comes with a sack and a pumpkin snack… er… pyrotechnic.
Some fun minifigs to day, and the candle warms my heart. What does everyone else think?
Theo: Armchairs: so good they made it twice? Not as good as today’s minifigures, that’s for sure!
Daniel: I love the matching chairs. That Yoda starfighter is a fail IMO. Way too small a ship to shrink down with enough details.
Kyle: There’s that standard LEGO City snowman, here to say Merry Christmas. Call me crazy, but I feel like Green Goblin should be dressed as Santa. The couches are my pic today.
Bre: Feels like I’ve seen the snowman a hundred times, but I’m not mad about it. Harry Potter is actually my pick today. Love that torso.
We’ll give this one to Flitwick. 10 Points to Ravenclaw!
What’s this now? Green Goblin has erected some sort of nefarious device to steal presents. Stop him, Professor Flitwick!
Paisley’s beloved Friends bunny sits traumatized City bunny down for a heart-to-heart.
