Since the debut of LEGO Star Wars sets in 1999, nearly 1,000 sets have been released in the theme recreating nearly every character and ship of note in a variety of scales. In its continuing mission to seek out new ways to celebrate Star Wars fandom, LEGO boldly goes where it has never gone before – a brick-built logo! Containing 700 pieces, LEGO Star Wars 75407 Brick-Built Star Wars Logo recreates one of the most iconic works of typography in all of pop culture as a three-dimensional display piece. You can bring the logo home on May 1, just in time for Star Wars Day, for US $59.99 | CAN $79.99 | UK £59.99. Will it set your heart stirring like John Williams’ opening theme?

The box and contents
The front of the box features the brick-built logo nestled between the LEGO and Star Wars logos. There is no indication of a name for the set, only the logo, which I suppose speaks for itself. A greebled band at the bottom of the box identifies this as an 18+ set, however that age suggestion speaks more to the lack of play functions than any building challenge.
On the back we see… a lot of logos! Four STAR WARS logos, plus LEGO and Disney. A Lifestyle shot gives you a sense of how the finished model might be used as a display piece, while a picture of the classic A New Hope poster (without a logo) reminds you what franchise this logo is from. Star Wars, nothing but Star Wars indeed.
After opening via punch tabs, we’re treated to six paper bags and two instruction books. If you want to split up build duties, book 1 creates STAR from bags 1-3 and book 2 makes WARS (not LOVE) from bags 4-6. There are no stickers or printed elements.
The instructions open with a brief intro from the Creative Lead & Design Director of LEGO Star Wars Jens Kronvold Frederiksen and frames from the opening titles of A New Hope. Interestingly there’s no info on the logo’s designer or how it came to be. (If you’re curious, it was Suzy Rice who came up with the logo under George Lucas’ direction.)
The build
As we’ll be building “STAR” first, bag 1 begins with the base of those letters, which is the middle of the finished model. Aside from a very small number of hidden elements in other colors, all the visible bricks are, to quote Wiz Khalifa, “black and yellow, black and yellow.” Bag 1 lays out the base through pretty straight-forward stacking, with one trickier bit with clips for the base of the “R.”
Bag 2 is largely dedicated to completing the “R” and uses SNOT bricks to connect the curved top half of the letter. We also add a bit more of the black between the letters, which utilizes a variety of textures for some subtle greebling.
We finish up the “STAR” half of the logo with bag 3. This section also contains a hidden tribute to the opening of A New Hope with itty bitty takes on the Tantive IV and a Star Destroyer. Even Tatooine is represented by a half-circle tile. The yellow top is easy enough to pop off should you need to prove to anyone that your LEGO STAR WARS logo is more than just a logo.
The model is mirrored so that the backside has the same slick appearance as the front. Should you chose to spin the top around to display it as “RATZ,” you can! No one’s stopping you. Just be careful if you open up the easter egg compartment as you’ll be in for a surprise.
(No Star Ratz were included in this building kit.)
Bags 4 through 6 are dedicated to spelling out WARS. The techniques and parts are overwhelmingly similar to the first half of the build, which makes sense as 3 of the 4 letters are same in each word of the title.
With no more easter eggs, the biggest thrill from here on out is making the letter “W.”
With both words complete, you can now snap them together. There are no special connections – just a mix of tiles and studs to make it strong enough to hold but easy enough to separate should you want to display your logo as RATZ WARS instead.
The finished model
There’s a reason why this logo has endured in popularity for nearly 50 years – it’s a powerful work of typography so loaded with nostalgia that seeing the letters will have you singing the theme song, just like Nick the Lounge Singer. It’s a sturdy build with clean lines and a commanding display presence.
The black greebling between the letters adds a uniquely LEGO quality to the otherwise studs-free model, and a hidden compartment with the microscale ships will bring a smile to those who peek inside. It’s a LEGO logo!
Conclusions and recommendation
STAR WARS Logo forgoes any play functions or minifigs, like the MARVEL Logo, instead relying on the iconic appeal of the design alone as a display piece. This keeps the price down – both at retail and likely in the speculative aftermarket. It also removes any ambiguity around who the set is for. This is unabashedly a display piece for Star Wars collectors and will look great on the shelf alongside your UCS ships or helmet collection.
700 pieces for $60 isn’t bad, and it is a good way to add a lot of yellow slopes to your collection. The 1x2x1 2/3 curve with cutout new to 2025, and first time in yellow, and the 2x1x3 inverted slope in yellow is also back after being out of circulation for a while (this part took me back to building the Black Seas Baraccuda back in the day!).
As a building experience, STAR WARS Logo is quick and straight-forward. The completed model looks and feels great. Clean, with a bit of heft, and no bigger than it needs to be to capture the typography. While I’m glad the price wasn’t inflated like the Marvel set with novelty functions and a mix of figs, I do wish there was at least one minifigure to accompany it. But since the logo represents the entirety of the franchise, it’s a great opportunity to bring whoever you want from your collection to join the display. I went for a vintage look that reminds me of that big hit out of ’77.
At 700 pieces, LEGO Star Wars 75407 Brick-Built Star Wars Logo arrives on May 1, 2025, and can be pre-ordered now for US $59.99 | CAN $79.99 | UK £59.99. After release, it may also be available from 3rd party resellers on Amazon and eBay.
