When our daughters were little they loved to collect stones they would find on our walks. I bought them a jar to collect these treasures, even though they were just regular rocks. And I always had to check the pockets before putting the clothes in the washing machine! When they grew up they discovered that there were more stones than those they found in the schoolyard or during a walk. The minerals they saw in museums held a magical allure.
