2024 LEGO Advent Calendars, Day 18 [Feature]

We’re into the final week of this year’s advent adventure. We’ve had some amazing special guests join our photo shoots, from Johnny Thunder to Saruman, but the real stars are the daily gifts found in our bounty of calendars: Friends, Disney, City, Harry Potter, Star Wars, and Spider-Man!

As ever, our intrepid TBB team is on hand with witty comments, insightful observations, and bad jokes for each day’s builds. And of course, you can add your own thoughts in the comments section each day! So without further ado, let’s crack open the build for day 18…

Following up on yesterday’s kitchen mixer, Friends provides a table with cookies and milk. From Disney, an enchanting Casa Madrigal.

City rounds up a tiny reindeer and sleigh while Harry Potter puts up our biggest tree yet, topped with a Santa cap.

Finally, Star Wars offers a U-Wing and Spider-Man gets in on the refreshment table game with pizza and a cookie.

In case yesterday’s Hogwarts Express build from Harry Potter had you stumped, here’s what today’s tree looks like nestled on its base, alongside our other trees so far:

I’m liking the U-Wing today, but the food offerings seem a bit anemic. What does everyone else think?

Theo: Cool mini Rudolf! The train round the base of the Christmas tree is a nice touch too.Nice to see some Rogue One love as well. Or is this foreshadowing for Andor Season 2…?

Daniel: Mini Rudolph is my favorite. The U-wing is pretty good but I feel like they’ve done it  better before.

Kyle: Even with the best tree of the three in the center, the HP train still feels off. Not a great day, generally. I probably side with the mini-sleigh in the end.

Bre: I, too, like the mini sleigh best. Tree is okay, but not paired with the Hogwarts Express.

Sounds like a rare day of consensus. City sleighs it! Disney gets a special award for most colors in a single build.
