We’re going bananas over this smashing Donkey Kong Bananza build

As we approach the 1-year anniversary of Donkey Kong Bananza (the first 3D platformer Donkey Kong since the 1990’s), Daniel (tacobricks) assembled the titular character and his companion Pauline in a recreation of the game’s cover art. The official LEGO Donkey Kong character might be limited in detail and posing, but that’s not the case with this model. Nintendo famously redesigned DK’s face and model to make him much more expressive and Daniel has wonderfully captured that here. The use of Mixels joints in Donkey Kong’s legs and the surrounding broken terrain gives the build so much variability in posing and brings to life one of the game’s core features: smashing everything.

It’s a wonderful representation of the incredible cover art.
